Biographical Information

A native of Park City, Utah, Marin Hamill grew up on the slopes and surrounded by the culture of winter sports. She first strapped on skis at age 2 at the iconic Alta Ski Resort, though her path to the sport she loves was anything but conventional. Enrolled in alpine skiing as a child, Hamill found herself mysteriously "sick" on race days and frequently took wrong turns that led her into the terrain park. It was there, among the rails and jumps, that she discovered her true calling.

Hamill's competitive career gained momentum through the world cup circuit, where she has established herself as a consistent contender. She earned her first world cup podium finish in January 2022 with a silver medal in slopestyle at Font Romeu, France, demonstrating the technical skill and style that have become her hallmarks. At the 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships, held in Aspen, Colorado, she placed fifth in women's slopestyle as the lone American to reach the eight-woman final in her world championships debut.

Hamill competed at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, qualifying for the slopestyle final with a seventh-place finish in her first run. However, during her second qualifying run, she suffered a devastating crash on the final jump, resulting in a torn ACL and meniscus. The injury sidelined her for an extended recovery that included two surgeries and rehabilitation.

After nearly two years away from competition, Hamill made her return in November at the 2024 Stubai World Cup in Austria, where she finished eighth. Her comeback story continued to unfold throughout the season, culminating in a second-place finish at the 2026 Laax Open. That silver-medal performance not only matched her career-best world cup result but also secured her qualification for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, making her the first U.S. woman to clinch a spot on the freeski slopestyle and big air Olympic team.

Off the slopes, Hamill is a University of Utah graduate who earned her degree while balancing the demands of being a full-time athlete. A self-described pickleball fanatic, she has an impressive claim to fame of having visited all seven continents and skied on six of them. Hamill brings creativity to everything she does, whether competing on the world's biggest stages or creating content that reflects her distinctive style. Her favorite trick, the switch cork 540, exemplifies the technical precision and flair that define her approach to freeskiing.
