Biographical Information
Kelly Curtis is an American skeleton athlete and Olympian. Born in Princeton, New Jersey, she grew up in an athletic family and excelled in track and field. Curtis competed at Springfield College as a heptathlete (where she won the 2011 Penn Relays Heptathlon) before discovering the skeleton.
She made history at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 as the first Black athlete to compete for Team USA in skeleton. She has also represented the U.S. in multiple world cup and international competitions, consistently ranking among the top competitors.
In addition to her athletic career, Curtis serves in the U.S. Air Force through the World Class Athlete Program, balancing her military service with elite-level training.
