Biographical Information
When leaving school at the age of five, David Eustace was hit by a car whose driver lost control due to the driver’s prosthetic leg getting stuck on the gas pedal. As a result of the crash, both of Eustace's legs were injured, and his left leg needed to be amputated at the knee.
Eustace played baseball and basketball with able-bodied children and loved team sports as a child, dreaming of becoming a professional athlete. He first tried sled hockey at the age of eight, and four years later, he earned a spot on the Northeast Passage/UNH Sled Hockey Team, where he would play alongside future Team USA teammate Griffin LaMarre. The elite New Hampshire program has had at least one player named to the U.S. Sled Hockey roster at every Winter Paralympics in which the U.S. has participated in the sport.
Eustace made his Paralympic debut at the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, where Team USA won a fourth straight gold medal.
Off the ice, Eustace is a big fan of his hometown Boston sports teams.
