Biographical Information

Shawn “Boomer” Sadowski was a troubled youth and found Australian rules football at age 19 as a way to keep him off the streets.  He was selected by the United States Australian Rules Football League to be part of the U23 world team in 2003, but that trip was cancelled due to a SARS outbreak.

In 2014, Sadowski was in a car accident and woke up to find himself a paraplegic. His home therapist introduced to the Paralympic wheelchair curling coach and he quickly fell in love with the sport. By 2021 he had been selected to the national team and an alternate for the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. Sadowski has represented Team USA at three Wheelchair Curling world championships (2023-2025) in the mixed team event.

Sadowski is also accomplished in mixed doubles as a two-time runner-up at the national championships.

Outside of curling, Sadowski is an ironworker in Portage, Wisconsin.
