Nina Roth began curling at age 10, inspired by her father, who also played the sport. She grew up playing at the Madison Curling Club, which was located near her home in McFarland, Wisconsin. This close proximity allowed her to train with experienced curlers, including former Olympians. Roth attended the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where she balanced her education with competitive curling. Outside of her athletic career, she works as a nurse at a critical illness recovery hospital.
In 2022, Roth announced she would be stepping back from competitive curling to spend more quality time with her family.
Roth made her Olympic debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, where she competed as the skip for Team USA in women’s curling, finishing in eighth place. At the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, she served as vice skip and helped the team achieve a sixth-place finish.
Nina Roth has represented Team USA at multiple world women’s curling championships. In 2017, as skip, she led her team to a fifth-place finish in Beijing.
Roth is a multi-time U.S. women’s curling champion. She won her first U.S. Women's National Championship in 2010. In addition, she was a U.S. Club National Champion in 2006. Roth also earned notable finishes in the Wisconsin State Women's Playdown, placing as runner-up in 2005 and finishing third in 2004.
Nina Roth has achieved notable success on the World Curling Tour, including podium finishes at events like the Curl Mesabi Classic. She also represented the United States at the 2018 Continental Cup, contributing to Team North America's overall victory.
Roth’s early career was shaped by her involvement with the Madison Curling Club, where she developed her skills alongside high-level athletes. By her teenage years, she had already begun competing at national tournaments, setting the foundation for her future success at the international level.
