Ro was invited to a rookie camp by the USA Bobsled/Skeleton team in 2016, where the coaches said "you're a little small" for Bobsled and pushed her towards skeleton. Ro made her FIL World Cup debut in 2023 and the following year became the first American athlete to win a skeleton race on the world cup circuit in eight years. At the 2025 FIL World Championships, she became the first American to win a world medal in sport in 12 years with silver in women's skeleton. Then she won gold in the mixed team skeleton event with Austin Florian, an event that will make its Olympic debut in Milan Cortina.

Off the ice, she is a girls girl and animal lover. Ro adopted a beagle mix from Charlotte Animal Services and would love to start an animal sanctuary one day.
