Biographical Information

Hannah Bilka grew up in Coppell, Texas, the youngest of four children. Bilka’s older sisters were figure skaters, and her older brother played hockey, so at age 6, Bilka followed her older brother into the sport. Bilka grew up playing hockey with the boys since there were a lack of girls’ hockey teams in Texas.

Her parents sent her to prep school, Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Minnesota, known for developing NHL All-Star and Stanley Cup winner Sidney Crosby. Bilka burst onto the scene in women’s college hockey by being named WHCA Rookie of the Year in her first season at Boston College, and finished her college career with Ohio State University, where she won a national title and assisted on the game-winning goal in the national championship game. Bilka was the fourth overall by the Boston Fleet in the 2024 PWHL Draft, and then the following season was the third overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Expansion Draft by the Seattle Torrent.

Bilka made her IIHF World Championship debut for the U.S. women’s hockey team at the 2022 IIHF World Championships and was part of the gold medal team at the 2023 IIHF World Championships. Bilka suffered a lower-body injury in the 2024-25 Rivlary Series vs. Canada that kept her out of the 2025 IIHF World Championships, but she returned to make the U.S. women's hockey team for the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

Bilka was a statistician for the Boston College Athletic Communications Office during her undergraduate career and later pursued a master's degree in sport management at Ohio State University.
