Growing up in Minnesota, Gianna Johnson began curling at age 8.
2024-2025 was a breakout year for Gloria Johnson. She finished second at mixed doubles junior nationals with partner Will Podhradsky. In women's curling, her team won their first U18 title in January and later that month participated in their first U.S. nationals, placing fifth and narrowly missing a playoff spot when they lost a tiebreaker match. In March, they won their first junior national championship. Six months later, they qualified for their first U.S. Olympic Trials in women’s curling by winning the U.S. Curling pre-trials event.
When she’s not on the ice, Gianna enjoys spending her time snowboarding, hanging out with friends, and exploring new places while shopping.
