About Emma Bromenshenkel:
Curls out of: Itasca Curling Club
I grew up in Cohasset, Minnesota and attended Grand Rapids high school. My entire life I have lived on the Mississippi River. I enjoy the outdoors and anything on the water. I now attend University of Minnesota-Duluth and I am studying biology and environmental outdoor education in hopes of doing something with natural resources when I graduate.
Growing up I was always at the curling club because both of my parents curl. When I got old enough I started to curl. In 2006 John Shuster came to the Junior Program at my club and talking to him and his Olympic experience really got me hooked on curling. Ever since then, curling has been a major part of my life. Last year I went to Junior nationals in Seattle, WA and I received the Katie Beck Award. A couple months after that I went to Optimist U18 International Curling Championships in British Columbia with Team Runing. I enjoy all of the great experiences I have had, the memories I have made and the friendships I have gained from curling.

Most memorable curling experience? It wasn’t at the curling club but it was at Optimist U18 International Curling Championships last year in B.C. and I was taking a shower and the shower handle fell off and water started shooting out of the wall. There was no way of making it stop and we went down to the front desk of the hotel and they said maintenance wouldn’t be there until 8 and it was a little after 7 so one of my coaches sat there holding a towel over it while we went to the club to curl.
