Biographical Information
Dylan Larkin grew up in Waterford, Michigan, and started skating almost before he could walk. He was immediately hooked on hockey, spending hours shooting pucks at a net in his driveway, honing his craft at a young age.
Larkin spent his entire career in Michigan, playing in local amateur programs in the Detroit area, then two seasons with the U.S. National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, and finally collegiately at the University of Michigan. Larkin was drafted in the 1st round by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2014 NHL Draft. Seven years later, he was named the first Michigan-born captain in franchise history.
Larkin played in his first NHL All-Star game in 2016 when he also won the Fastest Skater contest, breaking a twenty-year record in the event. Larkin played in five consecutive world championships (2015-19) for the U.S. men's hockey team, winning two bronze medals.
