Danielle "Dani" Aravich was born without her left hand and forearm. After her time as a Division-I cross-country and track and field athlete, she quickly became involved in the adaptive sports community. She volunteered as a limb-different coach and began training in track and field for the Paralympic Games. Later, Aravich caught the attention of a U.S. Paralympic Nordic Ski coach who invited her to a training camp in 2019, which sparked her training for the Paralympic Winter Games.
