Biographical Information
Declan Farmer, born a bilateral amputee, was first introduced to sled hockey at age eight at a clinic in Florida. Just six years later, he made his first U.S. National Sled Hockey for the 2013-14 season.
At just the age of 16, Farmer made his Paralympic debut in Sochi and helped Team USA become the first sled hockey team to win back-to-back Paralympic titles. Farmer was named IPC’s Best Male Athlete for his performance at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games and when he returned to the States, he won the ESPY Award from ESPN for Best Male Athlete with a Disability.
Farmer would lead Team USA to two more gold medals at the next two Paralympics part of an unprecedented four straight titles. He is now the U.S. all-time record leader in career goals, assists and points and the first sled hockey player to score over 200 goals.
Farmer graduated from Princeton University in 2020 with a degree in economics.
