Andrew Heo grew up in Warrington, Pennsylvania, a suburb north of Philadelphia. The son of South Korean immigrants, Heo followed his cousins and older brother, Aaron, into speedskating at Potomac Speedskating Club.
Heo would make his first U.S. national team at the age of 17, and three years later, he made his Olympic debut at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, finishing 7th in the 1,000-meter.
Following the Beijing Games, Heo would win his first world medal, a bronze, as part of the U.S. mixed relay team at the 2024 world championships. The following year, Heo
