Wrestler Jordan Burroughs, Wife Announce Birth of Fourth Child

Jordan Burroughs had to make one very important stop to make before traveling to Oslo, Norway, for the wrestling world championships.
The two-time Olympian had to welcome his new baby boy into the world.
Burroughs, 33, announced on social media the birth of his fourth child with wife Lauren Mariacher, writing that “God’s timing is perfect.” Banner Jordan Burroughs was born at 8:36 p.m. on Saturday, weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces.
Burroughs and fellow members of the U.S. team that will compete in the world championships were in New Jersey the latter part of the week for a training camp, with most leaving on Saturday for Oslo. Burroughs, a native of Sicklerville, New Jersey, and his family recently relocated from Nebraska to Philadelphia so that he could train at the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center.
Burroughs will be making his eighth appearance at the world championships and is a four-time senior world title holder. In his last nine world and Olympic appearances, he has won eight medals, including Olympic gold in 2012.
This will be his first time wrestling at the 79-kg. weight class, however. Burroughs failed to make the 2020 Olympic team after losing to Kyle Dake in the 74-kg. weight class at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Trials. Dake went on to win the Olympic bronze medal, and accepted the invitation to wrestle at the world championships. That forced Burroughs to move up a class for the first time in his career.
Burroughs defeated Alex Dieringer in the World Team Trials final this month to earn his spot in Oslo.
He wrote on Instagram after making the team: “Today I woke up with a full belly and full heart. I’m thankful for the love that I’ve received from all the meaningful people in my life. I want to take a moment to thank my sponsors for their endless support on my journey. The road has been much smoother with you each of you on my side.”
