Track Stars Tara Davis, Hunter Woodhall Get Engaged

Tara Davis celebrates with fiancé Hunter Woodhall after competing in the women's long jump final at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials -- Track & Field on June 26 in Eugene, Oregon.
Track and field power couple Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall are making it official.
Woodhall, a two-time Paralympic sprinter and three-time medalist, popped the question to Davis, a 2020 Olympic long jumper, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Davis posted a series of photos of the proposal on the beach to her Instagram on Sunday, writing, “you’ve showed me the true meaning of life and now i get to spend the rest of my life with you. let me reintroduce myself as a FIANCÉ.” Woodhall was dressed in a white suit and Davis a flowered dress with white flowers and the ocean behind them, and both had ear-to-ear smiles.
Woodhall also posted photos to his Instagram, writing, “To my future wife, I promise to always be there for you, I promise to always provide for you, I promise to always love you. You make me a better person and I can’t imagine a life without you. Thank you for trusting, supporting, and loving me the last 5 years. here’s to the rest of our lives. P.S. the last pic is my relief from getting a yes haha”
Both Davis and Woodhall are 22, and have amassed huge social media followings through their own YouTube channel as well as TikTok. Woodhall has more than 3 million followers across his platforms thanks in part to an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and a profile in The New York Times. They met while competing in college, Woodhall for Arkansas and Davis for Texas, where she became an indoor and outdoor national champion. Woodhall was the first double amputee track and field athlete to earn a Division I athletic scholarship.
He made his first Paralympic team in 2016 and won silver in the T62 200-meter and bronze in the 400-meter races. He then won bronze in the 400-meter race at the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 and was eighth in the 100-meter sprint. Davis made her first Olympic team this summer, finishing sixth in the long jump in Tokyo. They both chronicled their experience at their respective Trials and Games through their social accounts.
