Alex Hall Uses Strong Final Run to Claim Silver Medal in Big Air

Alex Hall poses at a Team USA Beijing 2022 Olympics shoot on Sept. 12, 2021 in Irvine, Calif.
Alex Hall broke out some of his signature moves Saturday, twisting in midair and grabbing his skis to impress the crowd with his high level of difficulty.
He saved his best moves for last.
Hall used a strong final run to come from behind and earn the silver medal in the freeski big-air competition with a total score of 185.75 at Visa Big Air Presented by Toyota, this weekend's FIS world cup stop in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Austria’s Matej Svancer followed up a 90.50 on his first run with an impressive 98.00 on his second run to secure the gold with 188.50 points.
Hall, the 2019 X Games big-air champion, got off to a good start with a 91.75 on his first run. It was the second-highest score among all competitors on the first run, but the Salt Lake City resident needed to make up ground heading into his third run.
He came through down the stretch.

Hall earned a 94.00 on his third run — the highest score of the round — to vault up the leaderboard and finish second. France’s Antoine Adelisse finished third with 180.00 points.
American Colby Stevenson, this year’s world slopestyle runner-up, struggled to land high scores during his runs and finished sixth at 171.50. Stevenson began the competition with an 89.50, good enough for fourth place after the first run. However, he posted an 82.00 on his second run to finish outside the top five.
