Biographical Information
Growing up in Iowa, Stoppelmoor started inline skating around age 7. His family nicknamed him “The Silver Bullet” for the silver helmet he wore while racing. Stoppelmoor represented the U.S. at the world inline championships in 2018 and 2019 before moving to Salt Lake City and transitioning to speedskating on ice.
In a few years, Stoppelmoor made the U.S. national team and won a bronze medal at the 2025 ISU World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships alongside teammates Cooper McLeod and Austin Kleba. The trio had previously set the world record in the event, which is not currently on the Olympic program, earlier that season at an ISU World Cup event in Calgary.
Stoppelmoor is committed to pursuing an Olympic medal and being the first speedskater born in Iowa to make the U.S. Olympic team.
