Personal
I started
karate at age 5...I have made the US team three times, all three times in kumite events. My first year I made the team for the 12-13 female -35 kumite. My second year was the 12-13 female -40 kumite. And this year I made the team for 14-15 female -47 kumite....My hero in real life is my dad because he inspires me to do my best and to follow my passions. He teaches me valuable lessons and he has taught me to follow my passions and persevere in whatever I do....My biggest win was at the Pan American Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2017. I got gold. It was my biggest win because I had been training so hard all year long and I finally reached my goal. It was also really important to me because not only did I win a gold for me, I also won it for the US team....I love the spirit of competition. With your teammates cheering you on while you fight there’s this extra bit inside of you that wants to push yourself not only to get the win for yourself but also for your team. I also love the adrenaline that you feel before and when you fight....“Do or do not, there is no try.” - Yoda
