About:

  • How you got into the sport: Both of my parents raced competitively back In the 1980’s, my mother having more success qualifying to race at the 1988 olympic team trials In her first year of competitive racing before getting injured in a bicycle accident which ended her career. My childhood; I played baseball and soccer until one summer I went to a race with my dad at Bay Creek Kayak Shop In Rochester, New York where I did a 2 mile race and I won. After that I did distance races every summer until I was 16 and then went to the Canada Day In Ottawa.

    I train without a club for around ninety‐five percent of the year. Besides when I go to Canada to train with Carleton Place Canoe Club, I'm currently coached by the head coach at the Canoe Club there. I also do surf ski races that are local when I am not consumed with sprint training.
