Biographical Information
Tom Howell grew up in New Jersey and was introduced to the sport when his parents, Bob and Rachel, would slide him down the ice in a car seat while they were practicing at their local curling club.
At age 17, Howell participated for Team USA in curling at the Winter Youth Olympic Games Innsbruck 2012, competing in two events (mixed doubles and mixed team). Four years later, Howell would win a silver medal at the world junior men's curling championships on a team with two of his current teammates, Korey Dropkin and Mark Fenner.
Howell has been a national champion twice in men's curling, earning the right to represent the United States at the 2022 and 2025 world championships, both times with Dropkin as the team's skip. Howell has been on the runner-up team at two straight U.S. Olympic Team Trials in men's curling, in 2017 and 2021.
Howell graduated from Marquette University with a degree in economics and business. He currently resides in Wisconsin, working as a financial advisor, balancing his job with the demands of being an elite curler. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Hanna, and Australian Shepherd dog, Oslo, as well as hiking, golfing, boating and traveling.
