Simon Ranagan began paddling at Valley Mill Camp when he was eight years old and began training in slalom at age ten. A long time member of the Potomac Whitewater Racing Team, he has been coached by former Olympian Dana Chladek, 2009 National Team Member, Aaron Mann, and the US National Team Coach, Silvan Poberaj. Simon is a freshman at William & Mary where he hopes to major in Physics with the goal of becoming an engineer.
