Sam, the oldest daughter, took to ski jumping, while her two sisters each gravitated to another sport: Alli to moguls and Lauren to alpine skiing. Her younger brother, Daniel also picked up Alpine Skiing.
Sam made her first U.S. ski team in 2019, and her sisters Lauren and Alli soon joined the team in their respective disciplines. Sam Macuga made her first World Championships appearance in 2023 for Team USA, competing in the large hill and team normal hill events.
Off the snow, Macuga is pursuing a degree from Dartmouth College as she balances her schoolwork with the demands of her World Cup schedule and pursuing her Olympic dream. When her sisters are not training at their respective sports, they enjoy healthy competition in board games and Mario Kart.
