Ryan Jones
Ryan is the younger brother of 2004 & 2008 Paralympian, Scott Jones. Following in his brother’s footsteps, Ryan took up judo in 2008. He made his first Para Pan American Team in 2009, and his first IBSA World Champions Team in 2010, both at +100Kg. After the 2010 IBSA World Championships, Ryan decided to drop down to the 90Kg division, where he again attained a slot on the 2011 IBSA World Championship Team. After the 2012 Paralympic Trails, Ryan decided to drop down to the 81Kg division, where he again attained slots on the 2014 IBSA World Championship Team, and 2015 IBSA World Games Team.
He is currently ranked #2 in the United States at 81Kg and will represent the US at the Para Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada in August, 2015. Ryan is a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center, Colorado Springs, CO .
