• Ryan is the son of Douglas and Robin Hawkins and has one sister, Heather
• Ryan started out as a swimmer but switched to diving at the age of 10 after watching the divers at practice
• Graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in architecture in 2015
• Was born with a club foot and had surgery at age 1, and doctors weren't sure he'd be able to play sports
• When he isn't training, Ryan likes to be outdoors
