Biographical Information

Ryan Cochran-Siegle started skiing at age two and is one of six alpine skiing Olympians in the Cochran family, including his mother, Barbara Ann, Olympic giant slalom gold medalist at the Olympic Winter Games Sapporo 1972. Cochran-Siegle made the U.S. national alpine team for the 2011 season, joining his cousin, two-time Olympian Jimmy Cochran, on the team. The following year, Ryan became a two-time world junior champion.

Cochran-Siegle would tear his ACL and lateral meniscus at his first FIS Alpine Ski World Championships appearance in 2013. Five years later, he made his Olympic debut at the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 with his best finish being 14th in the super-G. Cochran-Siegle won his first FIS World Cup race in December 2020 before missing the 2021 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships with a fractured neck. Cochran-Siegle would comeback to earn silver in the super-G at Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 and was the only U.S. alpine skiing medalist at the Beijing Games.

Off the slopes, Cochran-Siegle enjoys being outdoors in his home state of Vermont. He is a board member on the family non-profit mountain in Vermont that strives to provide all children with access to skiing, started by his grandparents in 1961. He is also active with his family's sugar shack, where they produce Cochran's Slopeside Syrup.
