Biographical Information

Keely Cashman learned to ski at Dodge Ridge, a small family-owned resort where her father coached her and her two brothers. She credits her father as her biggest inspiration, noting he taught her everything about the sport.

Cashman's talent emerged early. In 2014, she competed as the only U-16 American woman at the second annual Future Ski Champions event. Two years later, she represented the United States at the Youth Olympic Winter Games Lillehammer 2016. Her progression continued as she earned her first U.S. Ski Team nomination to the Development Team for the 2018 season.

In January 2021, Cashman suffered a season-ending crash during super-G training at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. She spent eight days hospitalized with the accident causing a traumatic brain injury, concussion, strained MCL, hematomas in both hips and temporary loss of feeling in her foot. Remarkably, she returned to training that spring, though another crash at Mammoth Mountain in May resulted in severe facial cuts. Her determination to overcome these setbacks demonstrated the mental toughness that defines her career.

Cashman made her Olympic debut at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, where she finished as the top American in downhill with a 17th-place finish and placed 27th in super-G. The 2024-25 season marked a breakthrough as she scored her best world cup results to date, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the Garmisch super-G and a fifth-place finish in Tarvisio.

Beyond skiing, Cashman participates in the annual Yosemite Facelift, volunteering to pick up trash throughout the national park. Her family opened The Serene Bean coffee shop in Pinecrest in 1998, with Keely working as a barista during the offseason.
