His shooting was particularly remarkable, converting 47.8% from beyond the arc, including an impressive 65.4% in the final two games, while maintaining a perfect free throw percentage across 7 attempts. He etched his name in USA Basketball history by joining Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony as the only Americans to record 20+ threes in an Olympics. His standout performances included a crucial 24-point game (8-12 3FG) with 5 assists in the final victory against France, where he scored 12 points in the fourth quarter and a historic 36-point outburst (9-14 3FG) against Serbia in the semifinals—the second-highest scoring performance by an American in Olympic history. Curry was drafted seventh overall by the Golden State Warriors in the 2009 NBA Draft.
