Peter was Born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. He started his paddling career in outrigger canoes at Hui Nalu Canoe Club. Competed in 12 Molokai to Oahu Outrigger crossings. Best finish was 2nd place. Continued paddling career in Sprint kayaks and competed in 3 Olympic Games, 8 World Championships, 14 National Championships and 3 Pan American Games. Currently, Peter works as a Web Designer at REI. (Recreational Equipment, Inc.) Outside of work he enjoy hiking, paddling, skiing and camping with his wife and three kids.
