Biographical Information

Nick Goepper was raised in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, where he began skiing at the age of five at Perfect North Slopes, a local resort. At age 15, Goepper relocated to Sandy, Oregon, to train at Windells Academy (now Wy'East Mountain Academy) on a full scholarship, where he trained alongside professional skiers.

Goepper earned a bronze medal at the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014, contributing to a historic U.S. podium sweep in men's slopestyle skiing. He continued his success with silver medals at both the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. After the Beijing Games, Goepper retired from freestyle skiing only to return 10 months later to compete in the halfpipe and not slopestyle, where he was a three-time Olympic medalist and four-time X Games champion. Goepper quickly established himself as one of the best in the world in halfpipe, winning gold at the 2025 X Games and a silver at the 2025 FIS Freestyle Ski World Championships.

Goepper also has spoken openly about his struggles with anxiety and depression, sharing how he’s overcome these obstacles in the face of athletic stardom.
