Biographical Information
Mike Krzyzewski, known as "Coach K," is one of the most successful basketball coaches in history. As head coach of the U.S. men's national Basketball team, he led the team to three consecutive Olympic gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016, helping restore the U.S.' dominance in international Basketball.
Beyond the Olympics, he guided the team to multiple international titles, including gold at the 2010 FIBA World Championships and 2014 FIBA World Cup. At the collegiate level, Krzyzewski built a legendary career at Duke University, winning five NCAA championships and making a record 13 Final Four appearances.
A three-time Naismith College Coach of the Year, he became the first Division I men's coach to achieve 1,000 wins at a single school. A West Point graduate and former U.S. Army officer, Krzyzewski's leadership and mentorship have had a profound impact on the sport, influencing generations of players and coaches alike.
