May Mangkalakiri qualified for the 2008 Bejing games in Women's Doubles with Eva Lee...Is the daughter of Anukoon and Siriporn "Tim" Mangkalakiri...Has one brother, Nukoon "Nicky" Mangkalakiri...Began playing badminton when a close family friend opened a badminton facility in 1996 and invited her to play...She fell in love with the sport the first time she played it...Was named the United States Olympic Committee's Female Badminton Athlete of the Year in 2001, 2003 and 2005...Earned a Bachelor of Arts Degreee in Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine in June 2006...Graduated from Villa Park High School in Villa Park, Calif.
