Biographical Information
Malik Jones was introduced to sled hockey at the age of seven when his grandmother discovered a local program. Jones, who was born without shinbones and had both his legs amputated at 10 months old, tried a variety of sports growing up, including wheelchair tennis, fencing, cycling and archery, but he was drawn to the team amaraderie of sled hockey.
Jones became the second Black athlete to represent the U.S. in sled hockey at the Paralympics when he was part of the gold medal team at the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
When he is not on the ice, he enjoys cooking, and his favorite meal is Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli.
