Personal

Lindsay Ball’s parents first signed her up for ski lessons when she was six-years-old. Ball immediately took to the slopes and was hooked on the sport. In high school she began racing competitively, and by 2012 she was named to the national team. The road to Sochi was not a smooth one for Ball, as in December of 2013 she tore her ACL, and the Paralympic Games will mark her first competition since injury.

Ball is fearless on the slopes and off, in September of 2013 she went bungee jumping while in New Zealand for competition. She also enjoys running and biking.

Ball was born with Retinitis Pigmentosa and can only see light and dark, shapes and shadows. She competes in the B1 class with her goggles completely blocking out all light.
