Biographical Information

Liam Cunningham grew up in a hockey family and began playing sled hockey at age seven, after being diagnosed with a degenerative bone disorder in his legs. He joined the Minnesota Wild sled ice hockey program and seven years later made the U.S. Men's Development Sled Hockey Team.

Cunningham made his first U.S. National Sled Hockey Team in 2023 at age 15, making his international debut at the International Para Hockey Cup. At 17, he is the youngest player named to the U.S. sled hockey team for the 2025 World Para Ice Hockey Championships.
