Her parents, Dan and Amy, have a spreadsheet to track where in the world they are competing at any time.

In January 2025, Lauren Macuga won her first FIS World Cup event in super-G to become the youngest American since Lindsey Vonn in 2007 to win a world cup speed race. At the 2025 FIS World Championships, Macuga won bronze by tying for third in the super-G. In her world championships debut, Macuga finished in the top five in all three of her events.

Off the slopes, she enjoys reading and mountain biking. She also enjoys competing with her siblings in card games and Mario Kart since they all have settled in different Olympic sports.
