Biographical Information

Originally from Millburn, New Jersey, Jessica Perlmutter relocated to Vermont where she has become deeply connected to the state's tight-knit snowboarding community, particularly in Killington. Growing up on East Coast terrain shaped her into a well-rounded rider with exceptional rail skills, developed through sessions at Darkside Snowboards' backyard setup. This foundation in technical rail riding has become a hallmark of her style, complemented by her progression into big air tricks including double corks and double backflips. Her approach to Snowboarding emphasizes constant progression and learning new tricks, supported by focused training on airbags and jump facilities.

Perlmutter's rise to prominence began when she entered The Uninvited Invitational in 2024 as a wildcard competitor and finished third overall, earning both a podium spot and a Rookie Award at just 14 years of age. She returned to the event the following year and captured the overall title and top prize, showcasing remarkable progression between seasons. Her victories at Heavy Metal Boston, where her laid-out backflip energized a crowd of 20,000 spectators at Boston's City Hall Plaza, and at The Bomb Hole Cup in Utah demonstrated her ability to perform under pressure on prominent stages.

Perlmutter earned her nomination to represent Team USA at just 15 years old, making her one of the youngest athletes on the roster. Her rapid ascent through the ranks of women's snowboarding has been marked by breakthrough performances across multiple disciplines, capturing attention throughout the snowboarding community with her creativity, technical precision, and fearless approach to progression.

On the competitive circuit, Perlmutter has made her mark on the NorAm tour with podium finishes in both big air and slopestyle at Mammoth Mountain while also securing a national rail jam victory. Her world cup debut came at the U.S. Grand Prix in Aspen, where she earned the women's slopestyle national championship title—an impressive achievement for her first appearance on the world cup stage.

Beyond snowboarding, Perlmutter is an accomplished skateboarder who competes in street skateboarding events. She balances both sports throughout the year, though Vermont's long winters mean she focuses more heavily on snowboarding during competition season. The crossover between the two sports fuels her creativity and helps develop the coordination that translates to her snowboard riding. Her ability to excel across multiple action sports disciplines, combined with her humble attitude toward competition—viewing fellow competitors as friends rather than rivals—has made her a respected figure in the snowboarding community.
