Biographical Information
Jaccob Slavin grew up one of five siblings in Erie, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. Slavin and his siblings would all play hockey and took advantage of the Colorado weather, once building an igloo in their backyard during spring break.
Slavin played college hockey for two seasons at Colorado College after being drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth round of the 2012 NHL Draft. Slavin has spent his entire professional career with the Hurricanes and twice been named the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy winner. Slavin holds franchise records for postseason games played, goals, assists and points among defensemen.
Slavin first represented the U.S. at the U20 IIHF World Championships in 2014, and next was called up to the senior team for the 4 Nations Face-Off in 2025.
