Biographical Information

Haley Winn grew up outside Rochester, New York, with three older brothers who played hockey. According to her parents, Winn’s hockey journey began before she could walk, as she would crawl to the drying rack in the laundry room and put on her brother's hockey pads and jerseys. Her dad joked: “It was like dress-up, so that’s kind of where this (her hockey career) all started.”

At age three, Winn began skating on the backyard rink her dad built and playing pickup games with her older brothers, all of whom went on to play college hockey. By high school, Winn attended Bishop Kearney, which has produced several players who would be future teammates on the U.S. women's hockey team. Winn played college hockey at Clarkson University, capping off her college career as a First Team All-American. She was selected in the first round (second overall pick) in the 2025 PWHL Draft by the Boston Fleet.

Winn made her debut with the U.S. women’s hockey team during the 2022-23 Rivalry Series vs Canada and has since been a part of 3 World Championship teams, winning a gold medal twice.
