Paddlesports Manager Dave Hepp learned to roll a kayak when he was only 11 years old. Now a seasoned paddler, Dave was a member of the U.S. Olympic Team from 1995 to 2004. With the U.S. National Whitewater (USNWC) Center since it opened, Dave was perfect for the job because of his entrepreneurial spirit. A graduate from Western Carolina University, Dave owned and ran the Dillsboro Chocolate Factory, a gourmet coffee and chocolate shop North Carolina. From chocolate to whitewater, Dave sold the shop and moved to Charlotte to work at the USNWC. When Dave isn’t working at the USNWC, you can find him walking his kids to school or sometimes paddling on the famous Green River Narrows Race.
