What makes volleyball my favorite sport? I love the sport of volleyball. I've played basketball, softball and track and field and volleyball is by far the ultimate team sport. I personally was shy and quiet when I started playing sports. It was hard for me to be the center of attention even as I excelled… I feel I was most able to blossom in volleyball because we depend on each other so much. It is a sport that requires skills in multiple areas of the game and combines power with finesse.

On court I'm known for my positive energy, smile and giving 100 percent.

My favorite city to play volleyball is wherever there is a full arena of enthusiastic, loud, cheering fans of volleyball, either for or against us.

Blue PT crusier when in Baton Rouge, Any rental car while in Colorado ranging from a Jeep to a Kia

What do you like to do in your spare time?
When on the road check my emails, talk on the phone, set up a date to meet with my husband via webcam, read. When home spend time with my family, check all the movies I've missed while on the road.

What do you envision doing as a career after competing for the national team?
Well initially I will be that career wife :-) But I also want to develop my foundation "Believer In You" which will promote Education, Arts and Sports...

Where would you like to spend a week’s vacation?
I'd just like to have a week's vacation! The place not so important as long as I am with my husband and/or family

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
USA or Brazil

What is your favorite room in your house and why?
The living room. It is very comfortable with a big screen tv. We often gather there and watch movies.

What is the one luxury item that you could not do without?
If I have to choose one something I'll say a car but I think I could adjust to not having luxury as long as I have essentials...If I HAD to.

What luxury item do you wish you could invent?
A way to get my hair braided quickly and pain free

I am a whatever I need to be person. If I have to awake early no problem, stay up late I'm the energizer bunny, but I like to take naps in the afternoon at least while I am practicing and competing

What is your pre-match ritual?
I like to listen to inspirational and praise music before I play. Eat some chocolate. Take an ouce of First Step for Energy, rub what I call my miracle cream Flexgen on my knees, tape up my finger and go

On an airplane, would you rather, sleep, read, work on a computer or talk with the person sitting next to you?
There a time for all of it. Introduce myself to the person next to me, read a bit or listen to music until I fall asleep, watch a movie...I tend not to work on my computer because of limited space (economy)

What is the best thing about competing on the USA Women’s National Team?
One of the best things is also the worst that is TRAVELING... It's great all the neat places we go to but sometimes our travel schedule can be hectic. And, wearing red, white and blue, representing my country.

What is your favorite volleyball drill?
I really like playing defense, I like when I am challenged to dig a hard driven ball then run down a tip.

What sport would you be competing in if not for volleyball?
Basketball or long jump.

What is your favorite food?
My mom's roast, my sister's gumbo

What is your favorite restaurant to eat at?
Mike Anderson's a seafood restaurant in Louisiana...McDonald's when out of the country

Blues, gators, swamps

How many different languages can you converse in?
Well, English is my first language, a little Italian, a little Portuguse, very little spanish, some phrases in Japanese, a few words in Chinese

Pay off the current house I am buying, buy a new one, donate to Believer In You...

I wouldn't change my life's experience...walking in someone elses shoes may not be what I expect

To get from one place to the other with a wiggle of my nose, nod of my head and blink of my eyes, or teleport

Oprah...she never has anyone but herself on the cover...that would be a great accomplishment

Christmas

What is your favorite season – winter, spring, summer or fall?
Summer, when I played in Brazil for four years, I didn't have winter because our seasons are opposite. It was perfect.

Is pinching with one's toes a talent? I can also draw pretty decently, got that from my dad.

My morals and values...my relationships with my family

Whatever you do give 100%, find something positive in each situation, and smile through the difficult moments
