BIOGRAPHY
Chris Klug survived a liver transplant in 2000 and battled back to earn an Olympic bronze medal two years later. Most thought he never would race again, but Klug, one of snowboarding's premier ambassadors, was on the snow a few months following the operation...and he continues to inspire on and off his snowboard.

UPDATE
It was a year for level results for Klug who hit a high point on the World Cup with an eighth-place finish in Kreischberg, Austria. But the 2009 World Championship team member found some real success on the NorAm circuit, landing on the podium in third, as well as finishing fourth in the last two events of the year in Quebec.

FIRST TRACKS
Like many snowboarders, Klug was first drawn to the sport through his love of skateboarding. He rented a Burton Backhill in Bend, Ore., back in 1983 and was immediately hooked. He said he's "probably made more turns on a snowboard than anyone else and still loving it!"
