Cailin Currie

Quick Facts

• Currie made her way to the pool after a recommendation from a physical therapist and encouragement from her family
• She has aniridia, a visual impairment caused by the absence of the irises and is legally blind
• While she first got in the pool at age six months, she began training at age nine
• After making her senior international debut at the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships, Currie has been a staple of U.S. Paralympic Swimming
• Interests include kayaking, cooking and biking
• If she had a superpower, it would be to fly
