More about me:
My name is Ashley Clifford and I am 21 years old. I have been competitively roller figure skating for 15 years. I am a 26 time USA national champion and a 6 time world team member. I began my training at the Redwood Roller Rink in Redwood City, California when I was 5 years old. In 2017 the Redwood Roller Rink officially closed its doors, being the last roller rink standing in the bay area. Then I relocated and am currently training at the Holiday Skate Center in Orange, California. My coaches are, Scott Clifford, Nicole Leonard, Gustavo Casado and Cristina Moretti. I train internationally with Cristina Moretti in Italy, and Gustavo Casado in Brazil. They all guide me as I continue to grow into a stronger technical skater in addition to a more artistic and well-rounded athlete. There have been many highs and lows within my roller Figure Skating career thus far. The lows have come with, multiple injuries, moving away from my parents so I can train, and multiple defeats. However, on the other hand, the highs in skating has shown me the world through travel, connected me with wonderful people, and has shown me how much hard work pays off through victories.
In 2018 I competed at the South American Championship where I placed 4th in Bogota Colombia. This placement secured our countries flag for roller figure skating to be held in the 2019 Pan American Games. The qualification for the athlete then came around in January of 2019 at America’s Cup held in Orlando, Florida. I placed 1st which secured the one and only spot the USA had for the Pan American Games in roller figure skating. I have trained hard my entire life for moments of victory within this sport. However, this victory is not over as I continue to push my body and my mind past its limits, as I train for the biggest event of my skating career, the Pan American Games.
