- Aaron "Surf" Victorian was born in Ogden, Utah on March 11, 1988.
- The native of Laie, Hawaii studied psychology at San Jose City College.  
- Surf lettered in football, wrestling and track and field in high school.  
- He also competed at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin in the 100 meters for American Samoa.  
- Surf was the California state champion in the decathlon in 2010 and holds the American Samoa national record in the decathlon.  
- He was first introduced to the sport of bobsled by his decathlete coach.  
- Being a 220 pound athlete, his coach mentioned bobsled one day during training and it always stuck to the back of his mind.  
- Surf never took it seriously until after he was done with his track and field career and wanted to still compete at an elite level.
