Shawn Johnson East Announces She Is Expecting Baby No. 2

The East family is gaining a new member. And The East Family — the popular YouTube channel run by Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson and husband Andrew East — is gaining a new cast member.
That’s where the Easts shared the news that they are expecting baby No. 2 with their 1.13 million subscribers. The couple teased some exciting news at the end of their previous video posted New Year’s Day, and confirmed the cliffhanger in a video Friday morning and also on social media.
“Here we go again,” Johnson wrote in an Instagram post, showing off her baby bump. Fellow Team USA athletes such as Tatyana McFadden and Carly Patterson were among the many commenters chiming in with well wishes. 
Johnson and East, a former NFL player, have been married since April 2016. Through their YouTube channel they chronicled their initial struggles getting pregnant, including a miscarriage in October 2017. Their daughter Drew was born two years later.
Johnson, 28, burst onto the world gymnastics scene in 2007, her first year on the senior national team. She won five gold medals at that year’s Pan American Games, then followed it up with three gold medals at the world championships. She then won the all-around at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Gymnastics. In Beijing, Johnson won balance beam gold and also three silver medals. Knee problems led to her retirement from gymnastics in 2012 as she was seeking to make her second Olympic team.
