2025 VISA Big Air, a part of Making Team USA presented by Xfinity, is taking place Dec. 11-13 in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Who to Watch: 2025 VISA Big Air 

Team USA's world-class freeski and snowboarding teams are set to compete at the 2025 VISA Big Air, a part of Making Team USA presented by Xfinity, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It is the only domestic big air world cup this season, as U.S. skiers and snowboarders will compete not only against the best world competition, but also the best finishes possible to help their cases for making the 2026 Olympic roster. Here are four athletes fans should keep an eye on during this high-flying competition.

    Alex Hall

    • The 27-year-old Utah native is currently ranked first in the world in men's freeski big air.
    • The 2022 Olympic gold medalist in slopestyle is looking to make his third consecutive Olympic team this season. If he succeeds, he will be vying for his first-ever Olympic medal in big air.

  • Marin Hamill smiling

    Marin Hamill

    • The Park City, Utah, native is currently the highest-ranked U.S. freeskier in women's big air (11th).
    • She is a seven-year veteran of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard national team and is looking to make her second consecutive Olympic roster. She finished 14th in big air during the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

    Red Gerard

    • Gaining fame by becoming the youngest U.S. snowboarder to win an Olympic gold medal (17), the now 25-year-old officially qualified for his third consecutive U.S. Olympic team earlier this year.
    • The Colorado native currently ranks second in the world in big air coming into this competition at Steamboat Springs.

    Jamie Anderson

    • The South Tahoe, California, native is considered one of the legends of the sport, and is the most decorated woman in X Games history (21 medals in 23 appearances).
    • Having made her Olympic debut in 2014, the three-time Olympic medalist is attempting to make her fourth consecutive Olympic team.
