Who to Watch: 2026 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Presented By Lilly - Long Track Speedskating 

Team USA's top long track speedskaters are set to compete at the 2026 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Presented by Lilly - Long Track Speedskating, a part of Making Team USA, from Jan. 2-5. This tense competition will determine which skaters earn the right to represent Team USA at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. Several veterans will be looking to make another Olympic team, and a few young superstars will battle to reach their sport's top event for the first time. Here are three skaters to keep an eye on during competition.

  • Erin Jackson competes during the women's 1,000-meter at the 2023 ISU World Speed Skating Championships on March 4, 2023 in Heerenveen, Netherlands.

    Erin Jackson

    • The Florida native made history three years ago at the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022, becoming the first Black woman to win an individual gold medal in an Olympic Winter Games.
    • The reigning 500-meter Olympic champion is looking to make her third consecutive Olympic team.

    Jordan Stolz

    • The 21-year-old speedskating phenom is hoping to make his first-ever Olympic Winter Games. If he does so, he will be considered a podium contender in 500-meter, 1,000-meter and 1,500-meter races.
    • The Wisconsin native currently holds the world record in the men's 1,000m, and was the first male speedskater to win three individual gold medals at a world championships. He has done this feat twice (2023, 2024).

    • The veteran speedskater and two-time Olympic medalist is hoping to make her fourth consecutive Olympic Winter Games.
    • The Florida native has held the world record time in the women's 1,000-meter since 2019.
