ABOUT
A member of the U.S. Biathlon National Team since 2009, Wynn Roberts began competing in bike racing at the age of 10. He was an accomplished junior road racer, traveling with his father, a former pro, throughout the Midwest. Roberts had a special talent for cyclocross, and he was the top cyclocross junior in the Midwest for several years. Roberts took up cross-country skiing and Biathlon as a way of keeping in shape for biking, and he quickly became a standout in Biathlon as well. He started his Biathlon training with Nisswa NW Biathlon club and coach Bill Meyer. After making steady progress, he began training with Vladimir Cervenka, the Junior National Team coach, at Mt. Itasca in Grand Rapids, Minn. Competing in 2009 as a junior, Roberts qualified for the IBU Cup, winning his first IBU cup trials over a senior field. When not training for Biathlon, Roberts continues to enjoy training on a road bike, as well jumping into an occasional cycling race. He also enjoys fishing and spending time with his family. Roberts' younger brother, Conrad, and sister, Kelsi, are also biathletes. Roberts is excited about taking his first trip to the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. "It is still sinking in, but I know that a lot of people are really happy about it," said Roberts. "I am excited and it just shows that dreams are not far off."
