At 37 years old, Iniguez has been married to his wife Kristen for 13 years. They have two boys, Noah (11) and Zach (7). Iniguez graduated from the University of Illinois in 1993, with a degree in art education. He now works as a full-time high school visual arts teacher at East Aurora High School.
Tony Iniguez began training for the 2008 Paralympic Games last November with the help of Marianjoy Rehab and the coaching expertise of Adam Bleakney. In Beijing, Iniguez represented himself, his family and his country in an exemplary way. Although he did not medal, Iniguez performed well in five events.
Iniguez was born in Mexico City, but his parents moved to Aurora, Ill., when he was nine, to pursue the American dream. They wanted a nice home, job and a quality education for their children.
