Starting at the age of five at the Junior level, and progressing to the Paralympic level, Tommy Chasanoff has made a name for himself in the sport of track & field. At five years old, Chasanoff was first introduced to the sport when his dad was the coach at Children Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. Shortly after that, Chasnoff became a member of the Bennett Blazers (Baltimore, Md.) and continued competing at the junior level. He went on to run four years on his varsity track team in high school and then four years of track and cross country in college.

Chasanoff is currently preparing for the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships. In order to prepare he has moved to the U.S. Olympic Training Complex in Chula Vista, Calif. He said, “Living out there has provided me with a consistent training program. I have been working out in the weight room two times a week and doing workouts six days a week. Having a great coach and training program has put me on a track for a great world championships meet.”

Chasanoff attended Webber International University and majored in sport management and marketing. For his future, he hopes to continue running and work in college athletics.
